I've been playing around with some new techniques these past few months, and I've got to tell you.... I LOVE THIS!!
One of the newest techniques I've been working on is called the Satin shimmers. It gives the glass a kind of satin/silk fabric-look, and it's just awesome!
Mind you, the peices you see in the pictures here are just test objects and have not been put much effort into making them look good. (sorry for the poor quality on the photo's)
This last picture was a last minute peice I made to enter a fusing contest. I called it 'the lonely shadowbird'... The name was given as a poor attempt to save the peice as bird ended up transperant (which was not really intended). But I didn't have time to make a new peice for the contest heh. I doubt I'll win anything with that failiure haha! Oh well, live and learn from the mistakes :)
I've also been working with some gold lately, and it's soo awesome! I'm gonna do more of those soon, and I hope you love it as much as I do! Here's to giving you a sneak peak:

One last thing. I'm currently trying to raise money to buy me a new kiln (fusing oven) so that I can make more glass pendants and bigger projects like plates, wall panels, glass art and so on. My goal is 5115USD, I would be very greatful for any donations, or any purchase you do of my glass. It will all go to buying a new kiln so I can continue to make great new glass things!
If you want to donate (any amount helps!), you can click on the Donate button on right side on this blog. Or if you wish to support me by buying some of my glass jewellery, you can just follow this link to my Etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/ViaMiaGlassDesign
Thank you all!
